1. Version

These release notes describe the changes, fixes, known issues, and release details that apply to the QLogic QLA23xx PCI Fibre Channel MAC OS X Driver, version 2.00.01.

2. Changes

The following changes have been made to the QLogic QLA23xx PCI Fibre Channel MAC OS X Driver between versions 2.00.00 and 2.00.01.

Hardware Support

  • This driver does not support Mac OS X on Intel-based CPUs.

OS Support

  • MAC OS X Panther Version - 10.3.8 and above.
  • MAC OS X Tiger Version - 10.4.8 and below.

Software/Driver

  • Removed PCI Subsystem Vendor/Device ID checks for device matching.
  • Added Support for Device ID 0x2300.
  • Updated 4Gb ISP firmware to 4.00.26.
  • Updated 2Gb ISP firmware to 3.03.19.
  • Added support for Atmel flash.

3. Bug Fixes

The following fixes have been made to the QLogic QLA23xx PCI Fibre Channel MAC OS X Driver between versions 2.00.00 and 2.00.01.

  • Fixed topology display issue on SANsurfer.
  • Fixed IOCB corruption due to request queue pointer mismatch.

4. Known Issues

The QLogic QLA23xx PCI Fibre Channel MAC OS X Driver, version 2.00.01, has the following known issues:

  • This driver does not support Mac OS X on Intel-based CPUs.
  • Manually loading or unloading the driver using kextload or kextunload is not recommended.
  • Manually loading the driver during active I/O is never recommended.
  • Cable pulls on the tape devices during active I/O phase are not supported.
